Consultation

From time to time, MCCAA seeks to obtain the input of industry, commercial entities and citizens on matters that affect them through a public consultation process. Through this form of interaction MCCAA  aims at improving its efficiency, transparency and public involvement in the implementation of projects, the enactment of laws and formulation of new policies. During public consultation, MCCAA notifies and informs the public of policies, regulation and standards that it intends to introduce. Subsequently, a consultation process and an exchange of views, takes place with all interested parties. Constituted bodies and representative organisations are invited to participate in the drafting of policy, legislation and standards.

14 June 2013 - Public Consultation on the draft regulations providing for the power to waive or reduce the applicable fine in cartel investigations.

Within the ongoing “Study for the Review of the List of Restricted Substances under RoHS2”, commissioned by DG Environment (European Commission), a methodology for the identification and assessment of substances for a potential restriction under RoHS2 has been drafted:

http://www.umweltbundesamt.at/rohs2

This methodology approach was adapted, taken into consideration the results of the 1st stakeholder meeting held on 13th of March 2013 in Brussels. A methodology manual which gives guidance for the application of the methodology for further reviews of Annex II of RoHS2 is currently elaborated. A draft will be made available on the project website in the first week of May 2013.

In order to give Member States, industry stakeholders and NGOs the possibility for further contribution, the draft methodology manual is put up for discussion within the 2nd stakeholder meeting held by the EU Commission on May 14th, 2013 in Brussels.
