In terms of regulation 5(4) of the Control of Concentrations Regulations, 2002 published in Legal Notice 294 of 2002, the Director General of the Office for Competition notifies for general information that a notification of a concentration between Columbia technology Ltd (Majuro Atoll, Marshall Islands) and SITA B.V. (Rotterdam, Netherlands) was filed on Wednesday, 3 April 2024.

The nature of the concentration is the creation of a fully functional joint venture, SmartSea Limited, between Columbia Technology Ltd and SITA B.V. offering IT and digitalisation services to maritime customers.

Columbia Technology Ltd offers ship IT management services and forms part of the Schoeller Group. The group, through its subsidiaries, is active in the shipping industry.

SITA B.V. is part of the SITA Group. The group provides IT systems and communications technology with a focus on air transport.

The Director General of the Office for Competition invites interested third parties to submit their written objections on this notified concentration within seven days following publication of this notice at the following address:
