Welcome to the Laboratory Services Directorate within the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority. The Laboratory Services Directorate is one of the three Directorates within the Institute of Standards and Metrology forms part of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority.
The Laboratory is currently organised as three units; namely chemical, engineering and civil engineering. Its business model is based on the three fundamental corporate values of independence, technical competence, and customer confidentiality.
The major services provided by the Laboratory Services Directorate are for government departments and public entities such as testing of construction material used during major governmental infrastructure projects and testing of medical gases used in public hospitals.
The Laboratory Services Directorate mission is to be an autonomous national scientific facility capable of serving the needs of its clients, based on the values of independence, technical competence, and customer confidentiality.
