The Director General (Consumer Affairs) is publishing this Notice in accordance with article 12H(7) of the Consumer Affairs Act (Chapter 378 of the Laws of Malta), hereinafter referred to as the Act.

By means of this Notice the Director General (Consumer Affairs) hereby states that on the  3rd April, 2025, a sworn application has been filed in the First Hall of the Civil Court (Commercial Section) in accordance with article 12C of the Act in the names "Director General (Consumer Affairs) vs Melita Limited C 12715.”

This sworn application has been filed following investigations carried out according to article 12(2) of the Act, and upon their conclusion it appeared prima facie to the Director General (Consumer Affairs) that Melita Limited C 12715 has infringed articles 51B, 51B (2) (a) u (b), 51C (a), 51C (b) (i), (ii) u (iv), u 51D of Part VIII of the Act. The alleged infringements relate to unfair commercial practices, including misleading actions and misleading omissions with regard to the notices that Melita Limited C 12715 issued on the 1st August, 2024 to its subscribers, and its subsequent actions.
