The MCCAA is appointed as the market surveillance authority for various product safety legislation. ‘market surveillance authority’ means an authority designated by a Member State as responsible for carrying out market surveillance in the territory of that Member State. The authority was appointed through CAP 510 Part VI of the Maltese legislation.
